Chapter Nine
The breakfast was loud and chaotic and full of questions. Bryan watched over Stacia and Adam leaned against the wall behind Loganâs table. He tried to look as much like a PA and as little like a bodyguard as he could. Logan talked to a group of people that sat as his table. Adam recognized two from yesterday as the girls who asked questions. One of them was named Karen or something like that. She was everywhere, her and the mousy friend, and they were clearly huge Robert and Logan fans.
âAre you his bodyguard?â
Adam turned to face Colin, who still gripped his clipboard tightly. Adam wasnât sure how much the young guy in charge of all the assistants scurrying about had been told. If Colin had been pulled into the loop about the fact Logan needed a bodyguard then he wouldnât have asked this question.
âJust a friend,â Adam answered. Colin looked from him to Logan and back.
âFor a friend you sure stare at the guy a lot,â Colin observed. He leaned next to Adam against the back wall and then moved subtly until he was arm to arm with Adam. Moving away from Colin would make it obvious that Adam was avoiding his touch so instead he stopped himself and instead focused on Logan. âItâs hard crushing on a straight guy,â Colin murmured. Adam cast a quick look at him. He hadnât expected that one. âI see the way you look at him. Youâve got no chance. Iâm available though.â The last he said with a small smile and a knowing wink.
âIâm not on the market,â Adam offered. He wasnât going to go into any detail. Colin frowned and then quirked his lips into a grin.
âShame,â he said. âIâve read some stuff on the internet, even written some, you know, fan fiction that is, where they put Robert with Logan, and jeez is that hot.â He fanned himself in an exaggerated expression of being overcome at the idea, then he grinned broadly. âI always fancied a bit of that. But you and himâ¦â He peered over at Logan. âNow that would be hot to write about. Anyways, later,â he added. Then he walked past Logan and onto the small stage at the opposite end to where Adam was standing, watching.
Adam followed Colin with his eyes and not for the first time he wondered if he actually had a working gaydar. Colin was a nice-looking guy, and if heâd not met Logan this weekend and had spare time on his hands, he may well have been tempted by the curly blond hair and the pale grey eyes and a really cute behind. But then, remembering what Colin had said about the whole writing thing, well that wasnât creepy at all. Who wrote make-believe stories about men in TV shows together? He pushed aside the fact that he could get internet on his phone and really he should read some more of this fan fiction slash stuff. What he had read was bloody hot.
